Painting With The Heart

This is a painting that touches my heart with so much love. It is from a picture that I took in Portugal in the village where my father was born. My father and grandfather built this wall. The olive trees and vines are also part of my family's history. Walking on the wall, I imagined my father as a young man picking the grapes and harvesting olives. I wonder about his dreams. For sure he did not know that his daughter, one day, would paint his work with so much love. I leaned against the walls all over the village imagining my father doing the same, to rest from the heat. Sitting on the step stones of the house where he was raised I can imagine my father by my side eating homemade bread with fresh goat cheese, and wine from those vines. Wherever I go I see him, I feel so close to him, I feel his love.

I have had a few comments about this painting being very Van Gogh! Wow!
