Painting With The Heart

This is a painting that touches my heart with so much love. It is from a picture that I took in Portugal in the village where my father was born. My father and grandfather built this wall. The olive trees and vines are also part of my family's history. Walking on the stone wall, I imagined my father as a young man picking the grapes and harvesting olives. I wonder about his dreams. For sure he did not know that his daughter, one day, would paint his work with so much love. I leaned against the walls all over the village imagining my father doing the same, to rest from the heat. Sitting on the step stones of the house where he was raised I can imagine my father by my side eating homemade bread with fresh goat cheese, drinking wine from those vines. Wherever I go I see him, I feel so close to him, I feel his love.

I have had a few comments about this painting being very Van Gogh! Wow!

PINTANDO COM O CORAÇÃO

Esta é uma pintura que toca meu coração com muito amor. É de uma foto que tirei em Portugal, na aldeia onde meu pai nasceu. Meu pai e meu avô construíram este muro. As oliveiras e vinhas também fazem parte da história da minha família. Caminhando na parede de pedra, imaginei meu pai colhendo as uvas e azeitonas. Eu me pergunto sobre os sonhos dele. Com certeza ele não sabia que sua filha, um dia, pintaria seu trabalho com tanto amor. Eu me apoiei nas paredes por toda a vila imaginando meu pai fazendo o mesmo, para descansar do calor. Sentada nas pedras do degrau da casa onde ele foi criado, posso imaginar meu pai ao meu lado comendo pão caseiro com queijo de cabra fresco, bebendo vinho daquelas vinhas. Onde quer que eu vá, eu o vejo, me sinto tão perto dele, sinto seu amor.

Eu tive alguns elogios sobre esta pintura ser parecida com o estilo do Van Gogh! Uau!
